Archangel Azrael is also known as the Angel of Death. The very name is terrifying to people, but that is because Azrael and his role have been misunderstood. 

 

Azrael does not cause death. He is a gatekeeper and psychopomp, guiding souls who are at the end of their life to the next destination. His role is to comfort and show compassion to those who feel lost or are grieving. He is an invaluable aid to making our next steps within life as well as helping us cope with death. 

 

Anyone who has known me for many years knows that I have resisted working with angels. I have always considered myself a “dark worker,” someone who helps people confront the reality behind their fears, and the complicated psychology connected to our ideas of darkness, particularly related to what we think of as the “Feminine.” Thus, I had not really dealt with celestial deities and beings. I have primarily worked with the Irish sovereignty goddess called Morrigan in all of her aspects for many years. 

 

However, more recent spiritual work has connected me to Archangel Azrael in profound ways, as well as the Archangels Michael and Uriel. The more practical coaching and mentoring work that I already provide to people going through major transitions has now become deeper, and I now work on the soul and ancestral level as well. My work is an aspect of Azrael's work, and he works both with me and through me in ways I would have never expected. 

 

I have read Tarot and other oracles for years, but never regarded myself as a medium. Now I find that the presence of Azrael is immediate, and he has started spontaneously channeling through me, both in speaking and writing. 

 

I now offer channeling of Azrael to my coaching clients who are in need of his guidance to work through transitions and the grieving process. As our world changes rapidly, we need Azrael now more than ever to help us come un-stuck and put the elements of our past in their proper perspective.
